Reduce, reuse, recycle and recover
Good waste management follows the 4 Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover, as well as avoiding illegal dumping and littering.
Reduce – buy only what you really need and avoid single use items.
Reuse – buy second hand and donate your old usable clothes & other items to charitable organizations.
Recycle – sort your waste into its different categories like paper, glass, metal and plastic, so that it can be used to make new products.
Recover – mixed waste is treated in a waste-to-energy plant, where the waste is converted into heat and electricity.
Below you can find guides on how to sort your waste correctly.
